As a mother and local school teacher, I'm running becuase I want to champion the needs of our community. For years I have served in Rutherford County working with children at our schools, being an advocate for children who are differently abled, and committing to help fill the gaps in our community where the people here are undeserved. When it came time to decide whether or not to run for this office, I thought about this and felt the calling to now serve for our entire community. Too long have the needs of some been neglected. I want to work for all for you- not just the few.
Our state's legislature has lost sight of what's important to Tennesseans. Their focus is no longer on their constituents. They are not concerned with the needs of the people of Tennessee. They are focused on their agenda and nothing else. George Washington Carver said, "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these." Our legislatures should be focused on that: helping our youth flourish, our elderly to live their lives with dignity, and being an advocate for both the weak and the strong to help them achieve the American dream.
I believe in finding real life solutions for all of our people here. Solutions that aren't based on partisan politics but are created specifically to benefit our community, our people. And, I believe the only way to do this is to hear from you- to be with you, to listento your concerns and to truly represent you.
It is because of you the people of Rutherford County that I have chosen to run for office. It is because of my concern for all of you that I ask for your vote.
